This topic has been in me for many many years. I’ve been working various jobs since the age of 14.

At first earning my own money was exhilarating and empowering; I was learning what it meant to be an independent woman, to have my own things, to make my own rules. Knowing that I determined my little teenage destiny was the business. I had cute clothes, could afford to get my hair professionally done, and I could contribute to my household. What. A. Feeling. I just knew that “When I grew up” I was going to run the show, call the shots and continue to make things happen for those and others around me.
