Don’t try to change me
Don’t try to change me… These 5 words have the propensity to make or break a friendship or a relationship. They remind me of the so called fatal 3 words “I love you” except “Don’t try to change me” can ignite and inspire anger in a flash. These fatal 5 words popped into my head today as I was reminiscing about the past. A few friends have said these words in a joking manner but I know of situations in relationships–friendly or otherwise, where people have actually meant them. I came across this article while trying to find more meat for this topic. Have a read.
What’s Love Got To Do With It?
We’ve all heard this line before, but really, what does love have to do with it. This time of year men and women everywhere (but mostly the United States) succumb to media’s interpretation of what love should mean. And usually it means something material in nature; diamonds, flowers, candy, sex. Valentine’s day is the one day of the year where you show her/him how much you care. WHAT? One day? Just like this screwed up lust driven society of ours. Love was designed in my humble opinion to be an unconditional, tried and true thing to be shared with everyone we meet. Something intangible, but something that can definitely be felt and experienced every day of our lives on Earth.
