    R’ebellious Love: Part I- Fuc’d Up Love

    To kick off a new series regarding love and relationships, I wanted to share with you something I read, both written and experienced by a friend of mine. Courageous in her desire to be candid, my friend, also know as Candy spilled her spirit about a type of relationship she was once in and was smart enough to grow out of.  I would dare say that all of us have experienced some level of love/obsession/desperateness for someone we thought “was the one.” We forwent all that we knew, flipped all notions of right and wrong and did the exact opposite of what logic told us to do. I’ve been there. I call this type of R’ebellious Love, fuc’d love.

    Communication, the worlds’ greatest problem

    Communication is a not a new word that we have just heard about. Even before it was given its place the dictionary, communication has existed since the beginning of the world. The basic forms of communication are verbal, nonverbal, written and visual. This thirteen letter word has been behind some of the world’s greatest wars, conflicts, fights, breakups and divorces. The concept of communication has been studied for years. You can get a diploma, a Bachelor’s degree, a Master and even PhD in communication. Let’s not forget the different areas/concepts of communication interpersonal, corporate, intercultural, business, marketing… the list goes on. But despite our efforts to master the concept of communication it always seems to run away from us. Something always goes wrong. Be it in the business place or in our personal lives.

    Alchemy and dreams…

    Moving to New York has taught me a lot about myself but most importantly took me out of my comfort zone. Like many, I moved to New York to pursue my dreams. The fear and doubt seemed inescapable at times but when I started reading The Alchemist (by Paulo Coehlo), I knew there was no more excuses I could make. I felt like my soul was talking to me through the boy’s journey to find his “personal legend.” If you haven’t read the book yet, I won’t hit you with too many spoiler alerts but I will share my thoughts on how it changed me dramatically.
